I've been riding motorcycles since I was six. I started on a mini bike, enjoying brisk rides up and down my driveway with my childhood friend, Kevin. I transitioned to dirt bikes as I approached my teenage years, broadening the scope of my adventures on two wheels. After an extended break from motorcycles, I returned to the scene five-years ago with the purchase of my first Harley-Davidson®.

There's nothing like it-the freedom to get away from the normal routine and just ride. When I get out on a Harley-Davidson®, it's just me and the road. I go places I wouldn't normally go, meet people I wouldn't normally meet and do things out of the ordinary. It's a wonderful brain-cleansing escape.

I started with the Harley-Davidson® Riding Academy at Grand Rapids Harley-Davidson®. This extensive program created an atmosphere where I could experiment and truly learn the complete safety aspects of riding in a controlled environment, both for myself and others on the road. I recommend the Riding Academy to anyone who is interested in either riding for your first time or, like me, revisiting the world of motorcycles. You walk away from the thorough class with an excellent foundation and knowledge base.

I've since built two customized Harley-Davidson®'s and added a Softail® Slim®, Road Glide® and an XR1200X to the garage. When I think of bikes, I think of Harley-Davidson®. The history and the options for personalization as well as the legendary sound of the V-twin all keep drawing me back to the brand. The motorcycles are beautifully crafted, with a timeless, classic look. Yet they still carry the latest safety features and advanced technology, which are both very important to me. Harley-Davidson® offers something for every rider, with a wide range of bikes available for both the novice and lifelong enthusiast.

Whether I'm out on my own or, still today, riding with my friend, Kevin, Harley-Davidson® motorcycles allow me to forget about everything except the road and just enjoy the ride.
